Terms of service

Last updated: 7 July 2026

These terms govern your use of LegalAI Studio, operated by The AGI Studio ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them.

1. What the service is

LegalAI Studio provides software tools that surface legal information about Canadian law and help you prepare your own documents. It is not a law firm, not a licensed immigration consultancy, and not a substitute for professional advice. See our Legal Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

2. Early access

The platform is in early access. Features may change, break, or be withdrawn, and data may be reset during this period. It is provided free of charge; no payment is collected today. If we introduce paid plans, we will say so clearly before any charge, and existing free functionality will not be silently removed from under you.

3. Your account

  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of majority in your province, to hold an account.
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Present output from this platform as advice from a licensed legal or immigration professional, or use it to provide paid legal or immigration advice you are not licensed to give.
  • Upload content you have no right to share, or that contains another person's sensitive information without their consent.
  • Attempt to breach, overload, scrape at scale, or reverse-engineer the service, or circumvent rate limits and authentication.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you upload and of documents you generate. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the service: storing, processing, and displaying your content back to you. We do not use your content to train AI models and we do not sell it. Handling is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. AI-generated output

Some outputs are generated by an AI language model and may be incorrect, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for verifying any output against an official source before relying on it. Do not file AI-generated content with a court or tribunal without independent verification and any required disclosure.

7. Availability

We provide the service "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may modify or suspend features at any time during early access.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, missed deadlines, or immigration or legal outcomes arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under applicable consumer protection legislation.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms, including any claim that you provided regulated advice to a third party using output from this platform.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, and will give notice where it is reasonable to do so.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Nothing here removes protections you have under the consumer legislation of your own province.

12. Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and material changes will be communicated to account holders. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
